"I had never sung a note prior to January last year when I ordered the primary Singing Success program. So at the age of 46 I decided to learn how to sing. I ordered the 12 CD program and attacked it with a passion. I finished the program about 3 months later and then repeated it again to reinforce what I had learned. I found that it created a foundation to work with but I still had a long way to go.

I had virtually no vibrato so I ordered the Mastering Vibrato program and worked on that for several months. I then got the Mastering Mix CD's and things really started to move. Things really started to click and I began to access my mixed voice for the first time.

Mastering Mix is the obvious next step in Brett Manning's systematic approach to the voice. After using the Singing Success program I had a good basic idea of what mix was and how it functions in the overall singing voice. The Mastering Mix program, though, goes far beyond. It clearly details and exercises the chest voice, and the head voice separately.

The head voice disc is EXTREMELY useful as before using it, I was always trying to "pull up" my chest voice as I moved toward the higher registers. After realizing that the head voice needed to be, and could be developed as a separate entity and then "MIXED" with the chest voice, I made leaps and bounds in my overall singing abilities as well as reaching high notes with much more ease. I have also found the edge exercises extremely useful in promoting the proper cord closure without having to force or power them closed with a lot of volume or pressure which was uncomfortable.

Overall, this systematic and progressive approach is a wonderful tool to use. If you are serious about improving your voice, then I would recommend this system without reservation."

"I love this program! With each CD, you are able to work on a specific part of your voice and really create an atmosphere to reach your full potential. With Mastering Mix, you find out that even though you are better at identifying your head voice and the mix from chest to head, it still needs a lot of focus and work. Each CD has its own challenges, and it stretches you to grow. You begin to get confident in what you know and do, and then you get to an exercise that is very difficult. Mastering Mix punched my vocals up from the plateau achieved via Singing Success.vI'm pleased with the quality of the product and the results.

What I like is that the vocal exercises produced smoother transition through a stronger register while handing me a better "bag of tricks" to use for delivering the passions in songs.

Just doing the exercises is the part where a hungry person is given a fish but I appreciate that Brett takes it further: What seems to rub off every time I return to the exercises is the inkling of what I need know in order to fish for myself- in other words- of what I need to have to keep getting better.
