Colby started singing for people at a young age, in church and on the theater stage, and knew almost instantly she wanted to perform for the rest of her life. She began her formal training in Atlanta, GA, and eventually attended Belmont University, graduating with a degree in classical vocal performance and Italian in 2014. Her background in classical disciplines lends itself well to a broad musical foundation and understanding which only continues to expand. She began studying at Brett Manning Studios in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since.
Her performance experience spans the globe and many genres and she is highly sought after as a coach of style and technique, as well as a studio musician herself. Colby has worked extensively with touring artists and is well-equipped to handle the challenges a singer faces on the road. She began coaching in New York City in the summer of 2014, blending a mixture of the various techniques she had studied over the years, then completed the BMA program in the fall of 2016.
Colby is committed to helping each and every student find their voice and be heard. She has coached a wide range of artists across genres and around the world, from psychedelic rock to electronic pop to outlaw country and beyond. “The best part of what I get to do for a living is working with and learning from diverse artists, helping them do what they do best even better.”
She is thrilled to be teaching out of the Nashville studio alongside Brett Manning and his handpicked staff of associate coaches at the studio and with the immense talent found in Nashville and beyond.
